1. Planning the trip

Our son Chris decided that he wanted to try something different so in July 2016 he took off to New Zealand on a two year work / holiday visa. 

He couldn't get any further from home (was he trying to tell us something)!!

We loved New Zealand when we were there in 2012, so we thought that we should go and visit him for Christmas.


It's a bit far to pop in for Christmas dinner and get home for Hogmanay so we decided to go on an adventure.

I was lucky to be given three months leave from work, so after a lot of discussion and research we found the perfect trip for us.

By the time we get back we'll have a few more pins to add to the map.
